What Standards Define "Quality"
Every telescopic hydraulic cylinder manufacturer claims "quality manufacturing." But quality is not a feeling — it is compliance with specific, measurable, published standards. This page explains the standards that define hydraulic cylinder manufacturing quality and how Korea Ever-Power's 2-stage cylinders meet them.
SAE J2065
DIN · JIS · GB

Korea Ever-Power manufactures the 2-stage telescopic cylinder under ISO 9001 quality management with reference to international hydraulic cylinder standards. Understanding these standards helps you evaluate whether any supplier — including Korea Ever-Power — is manufacturing to the quality level your application requires, and helps you specify the correct requirements when ordering cylinders for markets that reference specific regional standards.

Quality Manufacturing 2 Stage Cylinder — Parameters
| Stage Count | 2 stages |
| Bore / Rod / Stroke / Pin | 2–6″ / 1.125–4″ / 4–100″ / 0.5–2″ |
| Port Options | G (BSP per ISO 228) / SAE J1926 / NPT / M (metric ISO 6149) |
| Quality System | ISO 9001:2015 — manufacturing scope |
| Pressure Test Standard | 1.5× working pressure — 100% individual test |
| Lead Time / Warranty | 25–35 days / 1 year |
Four Standards That Define Hydraulic Cylinder Quality
International standards exist at two levels: the quality management system (how the factory operates) and the product standard (what the cylinder must achieve). Understanding both levels helps you evaluate any supplier's quality claim against objective criteria — not marketing language.

Port Thread Standards — Which Thread for Which Market
The hydraulic port thread on the cylinder must match the hose fitting thread on the vehicle's hydraulic system. Different markets use different thread standards — specifying the wrong thread means the hose will not connect. Korea Ever-Power manufactures cylinders with any of the four major thread families.
| Thread Standard | Defining Standard | Sealing Method | Primary Markets |
|---|---|---|---|
| G (BSP parallel) | ISO 228 | Bonded seal / O-ring | UK, Europe, Australia, Middle East |
| SAE (JIC 37° flare) | SAE J1926 | O-ring boss | USA, Canada (dominant) |
| NPT (tapered pipe) | ANSI B1.20.1 | Thread tape / sealant | USA (legacy systems) |
| M (metric) | ISO 6149 | O-ring / bonded seal | Asia, China, Korea, Japan |
BSP and NPT threads look similar but are NOT interchangeable — BSP is a parallel thread (seals with an O-ring or bonded washer), NPT is a tapered thread (seals by thread interference with tape or sealant). Cross-threading a BSP fitting into an NPT port (or vice versa) damages both threads and creates a leak that cannot be sealed. Always confirm the exact thread standard on your vehicle before ordering. If uncertain, measure the thread and send a photograph to the telescopic cylinder engineering team for identification.
What Certifications to Ask For — Buyer's Checklist
When evaluating a telescopic cylinder supplier, request these documents. A quality manufacturer will provide all of them without hesitation.
ISO 9001 Certificate
Verify the scope says "manufacturing" (not "trading"). Verify the certification body is accredited (UKAS, DAkkS, CNAS, or equivalent). Check the expiry date — ISO 9001 certificates are valid for 3 years with annual surveillance audits.
Individual Pressure Test Certificate
Each cylinder should have its own test certificate with: serial number (matching the cylinder), test pressure (1.5× rated), test duration, and result (pass/fail). Batch certificates ("100 cylinders tested, all passed") are less reliable than individual certificates because they don't prove that YOUR specific cylinder was tested.
Material Certificates (Mill Certs)
For critical applications (mining, heavy construction, regulated industries), request mill certificates for the seamless steel tube — these trace the steel grade, chemical composition, and mechanical properties to the steel mill's production batch. Not every buyer needs mill certs, but they are essential if your quality system requires full material traceability.
Dimensional Inspection Report
For first-article orders or matched pairs, request a dimensional inspection report showing actual measured dimensions against the drawing tolerances. This confirms the cylinder was measured (not just visually inspected) and every critical dimension falls within tolerance. Korea Ever-Power provides dimensional reports on request for OEM first-article approvals.

Standards & Certifications — FAQ
Field Reports
Our quality system requires ISO 9001 manufacturing scope, individual pressure test certificates with traceable serial numbers, and mill certificates for the steel tube. Korea Ever-Power provided all three without hesitation. We audited the factory with our own quality team before the first order — the ISO 9001 system is genuinely implemented, not just a certificate on the wall. The welding procedure specifications, operator qualification records, and instrument calibration records were all current and accessible. 60 cylinders delivered over 12 months, zero quality rejections. This is what standards compliance looks like in practice.
Our fleet customer's purchasing spec references SAE J2065 for telescopic cylinders. I forwarded this requirement to Korea Ever-Power with our order. The engineering team confirmed compliance and referenced SAE J2065 on the drawing. The pressure test certificates documented the 1.5× proof pressure test per ISO 6022, and the extension sequence verification per SAE J2065. Our fleet customer's quality auditor accepted the documentation without question. Having the standards referenced on the drawing and the test certificates makes the quality conversation easy — it's objective, not subjective.
We import hydraulic cylinders for the Japanese market and our customers reference JIS B 8367 (hydraulic cylinder testing). Four stars because the JIS reference required a discussion with the Ever-Power engineering team to confirm the test procedure alignment — JIS and ISO test methods are similar but not identical in documentation format. The team confirmed technical compliance and provided test certificates in a format our Japanese customers accepted. For buyers in markets with specific regional standards (JIS, DIN, GB), allow an extra day or two at the inquiry stage for the standards alignment discussion. The cylinder quality itself is excellent.
