Grain Tank Lift & Tilt Cylinder
EP-HCYY11112035 · Φ65mm · Stroke 607mm · 18 MPa · 22 kg
The cylinder that empties the grain tank on a combine harvester. After filling during harvest, the grain tank must be lifted and tilted to pour the grain into a waiting trailer or truck. The lift/tilt cylinder raises the tank through a 607 mm stroke — pivoting it from its storage position to a steep unloading angle. At 22 kg and 823 mm installation distance, it fits within the compact space behind the operator's cab on modern combine harvesters.

▲ Grain Tank Lift & Tilt Cylinder | EP-HCYY11112035 ModelHow the Grain Tank Cylinder Works During Harvest

During harvesting, the combine fills its on-board grain tank as it moves through the field. When the tank is full (typically 5,000–10,000 litres depending on the combine model), the operator positions the combine alongside a grain trailer or truck and activates the grain tank unloading system.
The lift/tilt cylinder raises the grain tank from its level storage position, pivoting it on a hinge at the base. As the tank tilts, gravity feeds the grain through the unloading auger or directly over the tank edge into the waiting trailer. The 607 mm stroke provides enough angular movement for complete emptying — no grain left in the corners of the tank.
The unloading cycle takes approximately 2–3 minutes. The Φ65 bore at 18 MPa produces approximately 60 kN of lifting force — sufficient to raise a full grain tank weighing 5,000–8,000 kg (grain weight alone, at approximately 750 kg/m³ for wheat). After emptying, the cylinder retracts, lowering the tank back to its level position for the next filling pass. Browse the full mobile machinery hydraulic cylinder range.
Harvest Conditions: Dust, Vibration, and Time Pressure
During grain harvest, the combine operates in dense crop dust — fine particles of chaff, pollen, and soil. The cylinder rod is exposed to this abrasive environment every time it extends. Hard-chrome plating and high-quality rod seals are essential for preventing dust ingress into the hydraulic system.
The combine's threshing mechanism generates constant vibration throughout the machine. The grain tank cylinder must hold the tank securely in both the stored (level) and unloading (tilted) positions despite this vibration — any drift would cause uncontrolled grain spillage or structural stress on the tank mountings.
The grain harvest window is often only 2–4 weeks per crop. A cylinder failure during harvest means the combine cannot unload — halting the entire harvest operation. Reliability during this critical period is non-negotiable.

Frequently Asked Questions
What Our Customers Say
"Replaced the grain tank cylinder on our combine before harvest season. The EP-HCYY11112035 lifted and tilted the full 7-tonne grain load without any hesitation. The 607 mm stroke empties the tank completely — no grain left in the corners."
J. Henriksen — Farmer, Denmark
"Good quality, competitive price. The hard-chrome rod resists the dusty harvest environment well — after two full harvest seasons, the rod surface is still clean with no scoring."
A. Bondarenko — Agricultural Equipment Dealer, Ukraine
