Refuse Truck Reverse Thrust Cylinder | EP-HCYY11112033 Model
Refuse Truck Reverse Thrust Cylinder
EP-HCYY11112033 · Φ220mm · Stroke 420mm · 16 MPa · 210 kg · Ejection Force
The power behind waste ejection. When the refuse truck arrives at the transfer station, the reverse thrust cylinder pushes the ejection plate forward — forcing the entire compacted waste load out of the truck body through the open tailgate. At Φ220 bore, this cylinder produces approximately 608 kN (62 tonnes) of pushing force at 16 MPa — enough to eject a fully compressed load of municipal solid waste in a single stroke.

▲ Refuse Truck Reverse Thrust Cylinder | EP-HCYY11112033 ModelHow the Reverse Thrust Cylinder Ejects Compacted Waste

During a collection route, the refuse truck's compaction mechanism crushes waste into the body, progressively filling the truck from tailgate to cab. The waste is compressed to approximately 500–600 kg/m³ — creating a dense, interlocking mass that resists movement.
At the disposal site, the tailgate opens and the reverse thrust cylinder extends, pushing the ejection plate from the cab end of the body toward the tailgate. The 420 mm stroke is sufficient to push the compacted load completely out of the body. The Φ220 bore at 16 MPa produces 608 kN of ejection force — the largest force cylinder in the sanitation vehicle range — overcoming the friction between the compressed waste mass and the body walls.
The 50% rod ratio (Φ110/Φ220) provides balanced push and retract capability. After ejection, the cylinder retracts to pull the ejection plate back to the starting position, ready for the next collection route. Browse the full mobile machinery hydraulic cylinder range.
Why Φ220 Bore for Waste Ejection?
Compressed municipal waste at 500–600 kg/m³ creates enormous friction against the body walls — especially when wet or containing abrasive materials. The 608 kN ejection force must overcome this friction across the entire contact area between the waste mass and the body interior.
The 420 mm stroke must eject the entire load in one extension — partial ejection leaves waste stuck in the body, requiring manual clearing. The large bore ensures sufficient force throughout the stroke as the waste mass shifts and redistributes during ejection.
At 210 kg, this cylinder is permanently mounted inside the truck body — invisible to the operator. The weight contributes to the truck's overall tare weight but has minimal impact on stability, as the cylinder sits low on the chassis centreline.

Frequently Asked Questions
What Our Customers Say
"The Φ220 ejection cylinder pushes our 10-tonne compressed loads out cleanly — no waste sticking in the body. The 608 kN force handles even wet, heavy winter loads without hesitation."
K. Andersen — Waste Collection Fleet, Norway
"At 210 kg, the reverse thrust cylinder required a shop crane for installation. But once fitted, it operates flawlessly. Korea Ever-Power's price was approximately 35% below the truck OEM's replacement part."
M. Costa — Municipal Garage Foreman, Portugal
